Beginning in April, 2022, and pursuant to P.L. 2020, c. 129, section 1d-e, the Middlesex Police Department will begin utilizing Body Worn Cameras. The department has long maintained a tradition of safeguarding the rights and dignity of our community, beginning with the use of mobile video recording equipment in our police cars in 1995. The use of the technological advancement of body worn cameras will further enhance our professional accountability, public transparency, and community trust.

As shown in the above photos, the Focus X2 cameras will be worn on the outer uniform or vest carrier in the middle to upper torso of our officers and detectives to ensure clear video recordings of police interactions and investigations that will be as unobstructed as possible.
