The Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) is a twenty-four hour a day, seven-day a week program created to assist victims of domestic abuse. Team members will be called upon by the local Police to assist victims at the police station by providing them with support and information. The goal of the program is to provide victims with the knowledge to make informed decisions based upon the options available to them.
Join the Middlesex Police Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT)
Women Aware, in collaboration with the Middlesex Police Department, is looking for dedicated, compassionate volunteers to serve on its Domestic Violence Response Team.
The team is comprised of trained community members who respond to the police department on an “on call” basis in order to provide emotional support, domestic violence information, legal options, community resources and a safety plan to individuals affected by domestic violence.
DVRT volunteers are needed after hours and weekends. Volunteers must undergo a background check and fingerprinting, interview process, and complete a 40-hour domestic violence training. If you are interested in volunteering, please apply at www.womenaware.net/volunteer
