News Release – May 13, 2022

April 21, 2022 @ 5:05 A.M. – Thomas Y. Miller, 25, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with DWI and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance following a motor vehicle crash on River Road. Officer Anthony Painchaud investigated.

April 23, 2022 @ 4:01 P.M. – A resident of Lorraine Avenue reported that a check she had mailed was later altered and cashed in the amount of $9,200.00. Officer George Pilesky investigated.

April 25, 2022 @ 5:26 P.M. – Two residents of Walnut Street reported they were scammed out of $350.00 after making a payment to purchase a puppy through Facebook. Officer Scott Mulford investigated.

April 28, 2022 @ 9:42 P.M. – Two juveniles reported that their bicycles were stolen while left unattended at Mountain View Park. The reported values of the bicycles were $500.00 and $400.00, respectively. Officer Bryan Rodrigues investigated.

April 29, 2022 @ 8:34 P.M. – Claudio E. Antonio Cruz, 18, of Bound Brook was arrested and charged with Theft. A resident of Watchung reported that her Apple iPhone 11, valued at $900.00, was stolen in Mountain View Park. Through his investigation, Officer Anthony Painchaud determined that Mr. Antonio Cruz committed the theft. Mr. Antonio Cruz was released on his own recognizance.

April 29, 2022 @ 8:49 P.M. – A resident of Voorhees Avenue reported that he was assaulted by an acquaintance on the 200 block of Raritan Avenue. Officer Richard Szymczak investigated.

May 1, 2022 @ 1:37 P.M. – An employee of Quick Chek, 107 Harris Avenue reported the theft of $66.46 worth of gasoline. Officer Scott Mulford investigated.

May 2, 2022 @ 2:48 P.M. – An employee of Food Prep Solutions, 400 Lincoln Boulevard reported the theft of catalytic convertors from an Isuzu NPR truck. The reported cost for repairs was $3,613.44. Officer Paul Steffanelli investigated.

May 3, 2022 @ 2:14 P.M. – A resident of Dayton Avenue reported that she was harassed by an acquaintance. Officer Colin DeVincenzo investigated.

May 4, 2022 @ 2:28 A.M. – Robert J. Seiler, 41, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop on Rock Lane. Officer Bryan Rodrigues and Officer Paul Cerreto investigated.

May 4, 2022 @ 7:36 A.M. – The proprietor of Ultimate Self Storage, 195 South Avenue, reported that at some point overnight, an unknown individual(s) cut the lock to a storage yard gate. The tenant of the storage yard reported the theft of a Ford F550 Super Duty truck, valued at $35,000.00. Later that morning, the stolen vehicle was recovered on the 200 block of Lincoln Boulevard. Officer Scott Mulford and Detective Daniel McCue are investigating.

May 5, 2022 @ 12:46 P.M. – Eugene F. Mayer, 58, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of Hazelwood Elementary School, 800 Hazelwood Avenue. Officer Scott Mulford investigated.

May 9, 2022 @ 9:10 A.M. – The proprietor of Jaco Movers, 560 Lincoln Boulevard reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a Ford Econoline van. The reported value was $1,200.00. Officer Scott Mulford investigated.

May 9, 2022 @ 4 P.M. – A resident of Stout Avenue reported the theft of a Werner brand ladder. The reported value was $300.00. Officer Richard Szymczak investigated.

As is the case with all defendants, charges are merely accusations and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
